  • Created and perfected name change orders for clients whose names didn't correlate with their gender identity for clients who had unique barriers to changing their names pro-se due to varying immigration status or criminal record

  • Coordinated an undergraduate intern who wanted to learn more about public interest law and its intersection with HIV positive patients.

  • Performed legal support work such as creating rent payment history sheets, writing cease letters to debt collectors on behalf of clients, and advised clients regarding planning their estates 

  • Worked on cases in conjunction with a supervising attorney on cases involving special needs trusts, living wills, and rent nonpayment cases

The Effect of Short Term Economic Benefits on Desistance During a Global Pandemic  

August 2020- Present (December 2020)

  • Analyzed descriptive statistical tests to formulate and base a theory that the economic welfare of a formerly incarcerated person would be the primary cause for desistance during a health and financial crisis

  • Conducted interviews to derive qualitative data in order to describe the social and economic impact of the short-term benefits of the CARES Act, specifically the stimulus check, unemployment insurance, and the eviction/housing moratorium on formerly incarcerated individuals who desisted from crime

  • Compiled independent research into a paper and presentation filled with data visualization, considerations for future research, and potential outcomes from this research
